Direct carrier billing (DCB) is a mobile payment service that lets you purchase digital content like apps, games, eBooks, etc., and charge it to your Smart Prepaid balance or Smart Postpaid bill. DCB also allows you to get paid subscription services like Netflix, HBO Go, or Spotify and charge them to your prepaid balance or postpaid bill.

For Android devices

Pay-with-mobile for Google Play allows you to use Prepaid airtime load or your current Postpaid subscription to purchase applications, in-app digital products, and content on the Google Play Store.

How to Register Direct Carrier Billing for the Google Play Store

1. Go to the Play Store and go to “My Account” or select your Profile Picture.
2. Open your Google Pay Profile and select Payments and Subscriptions.
3. Select Payment Methods and choose “Add Smart Communications Billing.”
4. Confirm the request by selecting “Enable.”
5. Smart Communications can now be selected as a payment option.

How to Buy In-App Items

1. Open your preferred app. Go to the store for in-game items or in-app purchases.
2. Choose your preferred in-app purchase.
3. In the Google Play Pop-up, select “Smart Communications.”
4. Confirm your purchase using Biometric Security or your Google Play password.
5. A purchase confirmation will be sent to you through email and SMS.

How to Buy Premium Items

1. Open Google Play. Choose the App you wish to purchase.
2. Click “Buy” to purchase the App using Smart Direct Carrier Billing.
3. In the Google Play Pop-up, select “Smart Communications.”
4. Confirm your purchase using Biometric Security or your Google Play password.
   • The payment will be charged to your Smart Prepaid Load or Postpaid Line.
5. You will be prompted if your App purchase is successful. A purchase confirmation message will be sent to you through email and SMS.

For Apple devices

Apple Carrier Billing is a payment method for Apple digital stores that allows you to pay for purchases on the App Store, iTunes Store, Apple Books, and Apple Music membership through your mobile number.

How to Register Direct Carrier Billing for the Apple Stores

1. Open the iTunes Store or App Store app.
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and tap Apple ID. Enter your Apple ID password.
3. Tap “Payment and Billing”; however, this may depend on your handset model or iOS version.
4. Choose Mobile Phone as your Payment Type.
5. Enter your Smart mobile phone number and confirm it with a one-time PIN sent through SMS message. Tap Verify to confirm the PIN. Remember, don’t share your OTP with anyone else.
6. You should receive an email and SMS message confirming Smart direct carrier billing as your payment method.
