What is Smart Loan-a-Load?
Loan-a-Load is a Smart service that allows eligible prepaid subscribers to borrow load or data packages, even when their balance is low or nonexistent. These loaned offers can be used for mobile data, calls, texts, or regular load—depending on what’s available to you.
There’s no upfront payment required. The amount you borrow will be automatically deducted from your next top-up, making it a convenient short-term solution when you need connectivity right away.
How Does Loan-a-Load Work?
Think of Loan-a-Load as a small advance on your next reload:
- Once you borrow a load or data package, you can use it immediately.
- On your next top-up, the loaned amount (plus any applicable service fee) is automatically deducted.
- Any remaining load after deduction is yours to use as usual.
Loan offers vary by subscriber and are subject to eligibility, so the available packages may differ from one user to another.
What Can You Borrow?
Depending on your eligibility, you may be able to borrow:
- Mobile data packages for browsing, messaging, or staying online
- Call and text packages for local communication
- Regular load for more flexible use

Who can Avail Smart Loan-a-Load?
To qualify for Smart Loan-a-Load, subscribers must:
- Be a Smart Prepaid user active on the network for at least 30 days
- Have no outstanding loan balance
Loan-a-Load is available through two main channels: UMB (dial menu) and Facebook.
How to Avail Smart Loan-a-Load
Option 1: Via UMB (Dial Menu)
- Open your phone’s dialer.
- Dial *5623# and agree to the terms and conditions.
- Browse the available loan offers.
- Select your preferred package and confirm.
Option 2: Via the Facebook App (Android Users)
- Open the Facebook mobile app on an Android device.
- Make sure you are connected to Smart mobile data (WiFi should be turned off).
- Opt in to Facebook Free Mode when prompted.
- Look for the Smart Loan-a-Load offer and select a package.
- Confirm to receive your loan instantly.
Note: Facebook Free Mode and Mobile Center are not available on iOS devices.
Paying Your Loan
Loan payment is automatically collected on your next top-up. You may also choose to pay voluntarily or in advance by texting PAY to 7676.
To check your current loan balance, simply text BAL to 7676. Partial payments are allowed for P15 loans, provided at least P5 remains in your wallet upon top-up.
