iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro: New Specs and How to Order Yours Today

The future is about to be in the palm of your hands as the iPhone 15, Apple’s latest release, is finally here. Similar to last year, there will be four models to choose from: the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Here are the specifications of the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro family to help you make a more informed choice for your next device as well as how you can order yours from Smart.

The Future in Your Hands: iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Specs

Whether you’re eyeing the iPhone 15 or the iPhone 15 Pro, it’s crucial to understand the key details that set each one apart. By comparing them, you’ll be able to pinpoint the model that best suits your needs and preferences.

Display

Similar to last year’s models, all iPhone 15 variants are equipped with a Super Retina XDR screen. The iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro Max boast a 6.7-inch all‑screen OLED display while the base iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models come with a similar but slightly smaller 6.1‑inch OLED display. Additionally, all of this year’s iPhone 15 models now have the Dynamic Island feature that was exclusive to last year’s iPhone 14 Pro series. It’s worth noting that only the iPhone Pro variants have ProMotion Technology and Always On display features.

Chipset

Apple has always been one step ahead of the competition when it comes to the speed and responsiveness of its products, and the iPhone 15 is continuing to raise the bar. The A16 Bionic chip that was present in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are now powering the iPhone 15, while the iPhone 15 Pro models are equipped with Apple’s new A17 Pro chip.

USB-C

Arguably the most controversial change to the new iPhone series is the switch to USB-C ports from Apple’s proprietary Lightning port. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro family is now equipped with a USB-C port. There are differences between the ports used in each model though: the iPhone 15 supports USB 2.0 while the iPhone Pro uses USB 3.0 for up to 20x faster transfers.

Cameras

One of the main reasons people purchase an iPhone is the quality of its camera. The iPhone 15 is equipped with an advanced dual-camera system that boasts a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultrawide, and a 12-megapixel 2x telephoto. It also features a 4x optical zoom range.

As for the iPhone 15 Pro, both variants come with Apple’s Pro camera system that adds a 12-megapixel 3x telephoto and 5x telephoto. The iPhone 15 Pro features a 6x optical zoom range while the iPhone Pro Max comes with a massive 10x optical zoom range.

The cameras on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro family are capable of producing super-high-resolution photos at 24-megapixels and 48-megapixels while the Focus and Depth control features make them capable of taking portraits with great quality.

Battery Life

Even though the new iPhone series comes with more powerful hardware than last year’s series, Apple has been able to maintain the battery life of each of the new models. The iPhone 15 will be able to do up to 20 hours of video playback, while the iPhone 15 Pro is rated at 23 hours. The iPhone 15 Plus can go up to 26 hours of video playback while the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be able to operate for up to 29 hours under the same conditions.

Storage

Storage capacity options have also remained the same with the new iPhone series. The iPhone 15 will have 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB variants while the iPhone 15 Pro will have the same storage choices with an additional 1TB option.

Making Smart Choices

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro are shaping up to be the ultimate smartphones. With a chipset that enables them to be the fastest smartphone on the market, fast-charge capable batteries, and unmatched camera features and quality, the iPhone has proven itself as more than just a mobile device—it’s a lifestyle choice.

Here are some key considerations to help you choose among the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro:

  • Battery Life: Consider the battery life of the different models. Choose one that meets your daily usage requirements, especially if you’re frequently on the go or constantly using system-intensive tasks such as editing, gaming, or taking photos and recording videos.
  • Storage Capacity: Determine how much storage space you need for your apps, photos, videos, and documents. Keep in mind that you can also use iCloud for storage.
  • Future-Proofing: Consider how long you plan to keep the device. If you intend to use it for several years, opt for a model with the latest technology and features to ensure it remains relevant over time.
  • Color: Your iPhone is an extension of your style. Select the color that best represents you.
